Create Your Vision

Creating a Vision Board That Feels Like a Future Memory

There’s real science behind why vision boards work—and it’s more than just wishful thinking. Psychologists have found that visualization activates the brain’s Reticular Activating System (RAS), filtering information and helping us focus on opportunities that align with our goals. Studies on mental rehearsal show that when we vividly imagine a future outcome, our brain registers it as if it’s already happening, reinforcing confidence and motivation.

For me, vision boarding isn’t just about dreaming—it’s about stepping into the certainty of what I want. I let myself feel the joy of it as if it’s already mine. That feeling is what shifts it from a collection of pretty pictures to a powerful tool for shaping my reality.

I do this in a way that’s deeply personal. I don’t just throw together images—I create a moment. I wait for a quiet evening, make a cup of tea, light some candles, and reflect on my future self. Who is she? How does she feel? What does her life look like? I write it down, with intention and certainty, feeling the excitement of what’s to come.

My Vision Board Ritual

Reflect with intention – I sit alone, when everything is still, and ask: What does future me feel like? What is she doing? What surrounds her? I write it all down—not just the goals, but the emotions, the energy, the way it all feels.

Gather inspiration – I dive into Pinterest, collecting images, colors, and words that spark something inside me. Anything that matches the vision in my heart makes it onto my board.

Put it together – Sometimes I keep it digital, using Canva to create a screensaver. Other times, I print it out and paste it onto my closet door—somewhere I’ll see it every single day.

Live it – The real magic happens when I start making choices as if my vision is already happening. It’s not just a dream—it’s a direction.
